The decision to buy a Canyon Bike

I first have known about Canyon Bikes from a friend who had recently bought one. I was thinking on buying a new 29r to replace my 15 years old 26' trail bike and one a brief conversation he recommended Canyon and told me that it had the best quality/price in the market.

The day after i started to research about the bikes available on the market and the pros and cons of buying a Canyon bike and eventual complains about it.

During three months, whenever i had time, i looked in the web for reviews of canyon bikes and comparatives with another bikes on the market.

I search the web in 3 different languages, Portuguese, English and Spanish and even a little in Italian and i only found a couple of bad reviews and both of them where nonsense.

After 4 months i had the money to buy it and the perfect fit for me was the Grand Canyon CF SL 7.9 2015.

The truth is that for the same specs it was about 600/700€ cheaper than a Scott bike and other similar bikes and even about 100€ less than other bikes sold online.

The online buy went without any big problems but there were some small ones.

The first problem was that they delivered it ahead of schedule, it may sound stupid, but i was away from home at the time and wasn't able to test the bike before the 30 days trial period, i contacted them to delay the delivery but they simple didn't care.

The other curious thing was that i also question them about some specs of the bike that weren't on the website, they took a while to respond, didn't know how to respond the kind of pads on the brakes. That should be a warning to me of how incompetent and useless they were.

The other problem was the size of the bike, have 184cm and 90Kgs and they send me a 'M' size and then told me that if i found that it was a little short i should buy a bigger stem, the bike had a 80mm stem.

Despite all, i was anxious to get home i try the new Gand Canyon.
